Which method of foundation repair to use

Were you looking for a foundation repair or garage foundation repair.

In order to efficiently repair a damaged foundation, first you need to know what’s causing the damage. You can’t get a prescription if you don’t know the cause of the illness. Look for different signs of distress, know whether it’s vertical stress or lateral, if it’s due to erosion, water, or instability in the soil.

Usually, you’ll find that the problem was small and can be corrected with a little well used mudjacking. Small areas of sunken concrete, caused by the above stated, can be corrected with hot asphalt, or grout pumped underneath the problem slab. This asphalt hardens and becomes a steady base. This is most effective when it comes to smaller slabs (which are most often problematic.)

However, if your problems are larger then a deck or driveway, the most commonly used method of repair is peiring. This is when large steel pipes are driven into the ground under the foundation of a structure and lift it to where it should sit, and prevent further sinkage. The pipes are driven deep enough into the soil, so that their support is below where water really affects the density, or, if possible, they are driven into the bedrock and provide complete support
